Tips For Buying Cell Phone Online

Buying a Cell Phone Online

Some people like me are the reason why cell phones sell so well on the internet. I am one of those guys that hate pushy salespeople. I am sure there are others out there that feel the same way I do. If you didn't know this is the reason why I decided to start this website in the first place.

My story is not that exciting but it needs to be told so you can understand why this site came to be. One day I figured I would get a cell phone and throw away my beeper (remember those things). I went into a small store that sold me the beeper a few years earlier. The salesman was working on a commission and this was obvious as I was looking at the vast amount of cell phones that they had.

Chose the Right Phone For You

When I selected the cheapest one he was reluctant to sell it to me. He wanted me to have this super duper cell phone that had all sorts of things that I would never use in a million years. All I wanted to do was make phone calls with it, was that too much to ask. As he was getting annoyed with me for not selecting the cell phone that he picked out it became clear what his motives were.

I changed my mind on the cheap cell phone and selected the phone that was slightly better then the cheap one I chose and the guy was somewhat happy. The salesman then started talking about accessories that I needed for the phone. He had 2 extra batteries, headphones, car charger, house charger you name it he had it all on the counter. As he was ringing them all up without even asking me he said that I was getting a special discount because I was such a good customer since I had the beeper for a few years.

My $29 cell phone came out being $150! When I stopped him in his tracks he got mad. I told him I came in for a cheap cell phone and did not want to spend that kind of money. They had all sorts of things like a $50 activation charge on the bill. He even signed me up for a calling plan that was $50 a month even though I never even agreed to a calling plan at all. Now would anyone in their right mind pay that. I walked out of the store without a cell phone. That guy was just way too pushy.

This is the reason why I only buy my cell phones online. I like the way I can log into my Verizon account online and change my phones plan and even the cell phone when I feel like it. My first cell phone was a real cheap one and that lasted about two years. I don't even remember the manufacturer of the cell phone it has been so long. I upgraded my cell phone to a LGVX4500 using the cell phone selector that Verizon has on their site. Although I have been in a Verizon store many times the only way I shop is doing it online. That is just me though.

I like getting the phone in the mail and having it work right away when I turn it on. If you have ever stood in a cell phone store waiting for the salesman to put all sorts of codes in the phone you know what I am talking about. I hate waiting for anything, who likes waiting? No one I know.

Some people like holding the thing they are buying in their hand and that is ok also. What I do is go to the store and hold the phone in my hand and write down the model number and order it online. Odds are you can find a coupon online that makes it cheaper than you could get it for in the store.
