Cell Phone Bill

Keep Your Eye On Your Bill

One of the more important things that you have to watch is the bill that comes every month from your phone company. It will contain errors or services that you really don't need. If you don't need text messages there is no reason to get billed for it.

Read on for more things to watch out for on your bill and read what happened to me so it doesn't become your problem too. I was wasting so much money when I got my first cell phone it was really a shame. With the money I was throwing away I could of taken my family out to eat once a month at a nice restaurant.

Monitor Your Cell Phone Bill For Things You Don't Use

There is quite a few things that you should look for on your monthly cell phone bill. Odds are your bill or future bill will have a bunch of add ons that you did not expect. The first time you get a bill it will have an activation charge that could be anywhere from $20 to $35.

Among the other numerous charges will also have a ton of fees and taxes that are from the government and your local state and sometimes even a local city 911 charge. These fees you can not do anything about but there are some that you can cancel if you don't need the service.

Insurance on the cell phone is one that if you have a cheap cell phone and you don't care about it getting damaged or lost you can get rid of that one. If the cell phone is one that you only use in an emergency and it just sits in the car glove compartment there is no sense in paying around $5 a month if the phone is only worth $20 if it is lost.

Unlimited text messages - For me this is the biggest waste of money as I don't use text messages. If you are like me then there is no reason to be paying $3- $5 a month for this. Just more waste of money.

Ringtones - Some services charge a lot of money for monthly unlimited ringtones. I have seen it up to $39 for this. Do you really need the latest ringtones on your phone every month? I didn't think so. See our page on free ringtones.

Games - The same thing applies to games that applies to ringtones. The game sites are a little cheaper they are usually $5 a month.

Screen Savers - Just like pictures on your cell phones this service is not needed every month, it could be used on a picture by picture basis. If you take a lot of pictures this service may pay for itself but to the average user it is a waste of money.
