Why Am I Buying a Droid Phone From Verizon
First off I have to tell you that my service is already Verizon, it seems
to be the only service to work good where I live. I have always wanted an
IPhone but it was just stupid for me to switch to AT&T when everyone I knew
had lousy service with them and either switched or suffered.
My Verizon contract ends on October 25th and I was hesitant to switch to an
IPhone but couldn't wait to escape the contract I signed two years ago. It
is kind of a double edged sword thing. Now that Verizon seems to be stepping
up to the plate with a phone that can compete with the IPhone I will jump at
the chance to own one.
Some features that I like are the 5 megapixel camera that they say will
also let you take pictures in the dark. I guess this is a good thing
since most of the pictures I would take would be at night or inside
during a party or something along those lines. |
Droid Features
This phone is made by Motorola and is running Google's android software,
these are two good things as Motorola makes quality cell phones and
Google will make sure you can run all their apps like docs and stuff. I
am so looking forward to that, being able to work on spreadsheets while
riding on the train to work is a huge plus.
I loved the commercials for the Droid phone that were running all over
the place explaining stuff that the IPhone doesn't do. It made me stand
up and take notice of what has been missing with the IPhone since I
never owned one I had no idea it didn't do all these things.
I have seen a few pictures of the new phone but its still hearsay as if
that is really it so I will not speculate on the looks of it except it
does have a full keyboard, picture the IPhone being able to slide open.
Supposedly it offers a few clicks and you can upload to YouTube, It
connects to Facebook and the email server is lightning fast.
According to reports the Droid phone is as slim as the Iphone 3GS and
has built in 512mb storage but ships with a 8gig card and can hold up to
a 16gig card. These are all MicroSD chips of course. Lots of room for
storage or even a movie, that is always a good thing.
The best part of getting this phone is no dropped calls and it will
actually do stuff that I need to do. Now I am just sitting on my hands
and waiting for this new smartphone to come out. Rumor has it will be on
October 30th, but like I said there are no firm details on that.
Here is the commercial for the Phone.
