What is RFID
There are a lot of people that have no idea what RFID tags are well let
me give you some insight on them. Most people already have RFID tags in
use but they don't know it. Do you know the tag that they give you for
your car to make the tolls pay automatically? Well odds are that's a tag using RFID
technology.
Ok maybe you don't have that but I am sure you heard of Mobil Speed pass
it works the same way.
There has been talk about companies that give employees a
cell phone to
use for work reasons will be giving cell phones with RFID tags in them so
they can keep track of employees. Now who is to say that these employees
won't be tracked when they go home for the day.
There is many concerns about RFID tags as they could be used for
millions of other purposes. Imagine going to the airport and being checked
in automatically because all your info is stored on the cell phone you are
carrying. Like I said The uses for RFID technology is limitless.
We hear that the first cell phones to carry RFID tags will be a new
cell phone by Nokia.
In
the Future the phone could pick up information from various things, like
movie posters, and the RFID tags could allow you to do things like offer a
discount every time you walk by a McDonald's and such. You'll see trials
of such cell phones in the U.S.A. sometime this year.
You can read more about
RFIDtalk.com They always have great
RFID information on the RFID tag forums. This is also the same thing that
they are going to install in passports and other things like cards that
will be able to speed up the lines at the airport when going through
security. Pretty fascinating stuff indeed.
