Video Cell Phone

Video Cell Phone

The hottest thing out on the market as of this writing is a cell phone that records video besides just taking pictures with the phone. While this technology has been around in Japan for a while the cell phone carriers finally decided to bring it to the United States.

The Video phone and the streaming TV phones are the newest craze in Japan right now so expect to see TV on your cell phone in the near future.

Cell Phone Video Camera

There are currently only a few companies that make a video camera cell phone and they are quite expensive. I am sure they will drop in price as more and more companies start to develop more of these phones as they become mainstream. One of the best of the new video phones that we have tried is the LG VX7000 from Verizon. It is a cool flip phone. Odds are if you found this page you already know that these phones are not cheap. If you don't really need all the bells and whistles on a cell phone than this is not the phone for you. Although I am sure you might be able to get this Video cell phone free if you look hard enough but it will come with a 2 year contract.

The other phone that we tried out is the Samsung E315. The pictures were slightly better on the Verizon LG VX7000 but this cell phone from Samsung came really close to matching it. The Samsung also has a built in camera and had a better wireless web or (WAP) as they are now calling it. The Samsung is also a world phone which makes it a better choice if you plan on going on a vacation overseas.

These wireless video phones wont take the place of a camcorder just yet but they offer a lot if you just want to capture small chunks of video to send to a relative. If you are looking for a phone/pda that has video look at the Palm Treo 650 as it holds up to 15 minutes of video without the use of a memory card.

Some people are making money selling their videos to news sources like CNN or MSNBC. If you happen to be in the right place where news strikes you would love to be able to cash in on it. That is just another way to justify the cost of splurging on an expensive phone.
